This four and a half hour hike starts at Thornleigh Station and finishes at Hornsby Station.
After meeting at Thornleigh Station, guide Myles https://www.instagram.com/myenviroway/ will lead you through local streets before diving into the bush at the southern end of Berowra Valley National Park. Soon after visiting the historic Zig Zag railway site, you will be enveloped by nature as you navigate the changing ecosystems of Berowra Creek valley. One minute you will find yourself in coachwood rainforest along cascading creeks, and the next up on the sunny ridge-top, admiring blue-sky views across the gum tree canopy. The track mostly undulates along the side of the valley but there are a few creek crossings, including the famous Washing Machine! A short side trip to visit Westleigh Aboriginal engravings is included, along with a chance to pop down to The Fishponds, before you climb up the Hornsby Heritage Steps. Free pizza will be delivered near the end of the walk, then we finish our journey at Hornsby Station. Please note – this walk will be fast paced!
