All guided bushwalks are for Hornsby Shire residents only.

Join us for a special 1 ½ hour (1km) twilight walk through the bushland of Hornsby Park and the historic Crusher Plant Precinct. As the sun sets, the landscape transforms—revealing a mysterious and vibrant world that only comes alive after dark.

Follow the new heritage steps and immerse yourself in Hornsby’s beautiful bushland bathed in twilight. Along the way, our guide will introduce you to the fascinating wildlife that becomes active when most of us are winding down for the day.

Special Feature: International Bat Appreciation Day

Did you know 17 April is International Bat Appreciation Day? To celebrate, our guide will bring along a bat detector so we can tune in to the hidden world of local microbats. You’ll learn which species call Hornsby Park home and hear their ultrasonic calls translated into sounds we can actually detect.

Come along to discover, explore, and experience the bush in a whole new light—after dark!

Walk grade: 2.5 (easy to slightly challenging).
Suitability: All ages.
Supervision: Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Please note: Younger children unused to bushwalking might find it tough. Not suitable for those with impaired mobility, wheelchairs, walkers, or prams.
