University of NSW Third Year Landscape Architecture Student Projects
In 2016 Hornsby Shire Council allowed 50 third-year landscape architecture students from the University of NSW to visit Hornsby Quarry and investigate opportunities for park development. They were given an open brief to develop concept designs and were not required to be realistic about site constraints.
The five works showcased below were selected for display to the public, as they indicate contrasting responses that build on the distinct landscape character of the site. The student designs provide some interesting and exciting ideas and concepts. They are not endorsed proposals but provide a source of inspiration at this pre-design stage.
