Featuring dramatic level changes, exposed rock walls and an open water body, the quarry void is the centrepiece of the parklands.

The Quarry Void
There is such a feeling of remoteness in the former quarry that it’s difficult to believe you’re only a few minutes walk from Hornsby station. The bushland that surrounds the park and extends beyond the site into Berowra Valley National Park heighten the sense of peace and tranquillity.
There are steep slopes all around the quarry void as a result of past quarrying operations and an interesting geological formation of a volcanic diatreme is exposed within the eastern face of the quarried cliffs. The deep quarry hole and surrounding cliffs create a dramatic amphitheatre at the centre of the site.
